We are excited to introduce the latest release of CAD Exchanger, offering enhanced capabilities in CAD formats, improved SDK, Manufacturing Toolkit, and Web Toolkit functionality.

Here are the highlights:

  • Export integration with Eyeshot;
  • Added support of integer, real and boolean properties in STEP.

Additionally, we focused on improving performance and fixing crashes on complex models in Manufacturing Toolkit (MTK).

Last year, we announced integration with Eyeshot so you could import many formats with a wide range of data support in CAD Exchanger. This time, we have added the export of some Eyeshot entities to the CAD Exchanger model. The feature can be useful if you want to use some formats that are not supported or if it is important to add metadata.

We are glad to introduce support for integer, real, and boolean properties in STEP files. Now, in addition to text values, it is possible to add the following custom data: numerical values, real number measurements, and true/false parameters. This feature allows you to transfer a broader array of metadata types within STEP models.

In CAD Exchanger release 3.24.4, we addressed an issue with volume calculations after B-Rep simplification. Previously, a model's volume remained the same, but this update ensures that you will get the accurate changed volume.

Previously, you could only add a global clip lane, and it would cut off everything that was on the scene. Now, it is possible to add local clip planes that clip only the scene nodes to which they were assigned. For example, you can preserve measurements for more detailed analysis.

We have resolved an issue in the molding DFM analysis that caused crashes with certain parameter settings. Now, you can adjust any parameters with confidence, ensuring uninterrupted and more reliable operations.

As usual, we are paying close attention to improving our formats.

  • DWG: added the conversion to ModelData for LineWeight data;
  • STEP: fixed incorrect file structure after export and extended reading of Unicode symbols;
  • SLD: fixed a crash during import;
  • JT: fixed different color results for poly representation and B-Rep import.

There are also some minor changes in SDK and Web Toolkit. To get the full list of the 3.24.4 updates, read the CHANGES.txt file.
