We are glad to present the newest version of CAD Exchanger, which introduces a range of new features designed to elevate your experience with CAD and BIM data. Here are the highlights:
- Support of new format versions: NX 2412, Revit 2023, SOLIDWORKS 2025;
- Integration with Eyeshot 2024.
CAD Exchanger SDK and Lab updates
Support of new format versions
We are excited to announce the support of three new format versions: SOLIDWORKS 2025, Siemens NX 2412, and Revit 2023. Please refer to documentation for more details on the import scope and file extensions.
Additionally, we have added a new option for SOLIDWORKS that allows you to manage whether hidden and suppressed instances are imported, providing greater customization.
Format improvements
As usual, we took the time to improve supported formats.
- Creo: fixed the import of fillet surfaces with poles;
- DWG: fixed the wrong offset value of hatch definition lines;
- glTF: improved handling of out-of-range emissiveFactor values;
- IFC: fixed a crash that occurred during the meshing of elements with shared representations;
- SOLIDWORKS: fixed import of assemblies from files of version 2004.
CAD Exchanger SDK updates
Integration with Eyeshot 2024
We are keeping pace with developments in DevDept's software products, since release 3.21.0. This time, in response to a client request, we have added support for the new version of Eyeshot. However, if you still prefer to stay on the 2023 version, we can provide a special build upon request.
Designation of hidden scene graph elements
We are glad to introduce a new feature that enhances your control over scene graph elements. Now, you can manually set the hidden and suppression properties of elements after import, using the property table. This functionality provides greater flexibility and customization, especially when managing complex models.
Improved detection of holes
Previously, you could get an incorrect model after B-Rep simplification, using Hole Remover Tool. As a result, the volume and other parameters were also incorrect. This update ensures that when a solid is simplified, it correctly identifies and retains the integrity of the model, eliminating the confusion of mixed components in the output. It streamlines the process of simplifying complex geometries, allowing you to achieve results with greater accuracy.
There are also some minor changes in CAD Exchanger SDK and Lab. To get the full list of the 3.24.9 updates, read the CHANGES.txt file.
Manufacturing Toolkit updates
Starting from 2025, we have updated the Manufacturing Toolkit version numbering and moved its announcements to cadexsoft.com. The joint packages CAD Exchanger + Manufacturing Toolkit will continue to be numbered according to the version of CAD Exchanger.
Here are the highlights of Manufacturing Toolkit 2025.1:
- Better recognition of pockets and faces;
- Improved wall finder algorithm used in DFM check;
- Extended MTK Web functionality with new 'Elementary Surface' and 'Conic' APIs.
