The license fee includes a development fee and a distribution fee. This is a typical combination used when licensing complex technologies.

Development license fee grants access to the technology and includes a higher joining fee (for the first year) and a lower recurrent annual maintenance fee (after the first year). The fee depends on the included components (file formats and add-ons) and configurations (OSes, architectures, supported programming languages).

Distribution fee grants a right to distribute the SDK-based solution. The fee is per end-user’s machine and depends on its type (desktop or server) and own application’s license (subscription or perpetual).

Once you are ready to go into production development, we will send out a questionnaire and, based on it, prepare a license agreement that will be executed by authorized representatives.

Once you have paid the joining fee, you will receive a development license key.

Once you are ready to start distributing your application, you will be generating license keys for your end-user’s machines as needed (perpetual or time-limited).

We may collect payments through your preferred reseller. However the paperwork must still be executed with your company, who will be the licensee. Please contact us to arrange the process.

For convenience, in the case of distinct purchases, all components will have one annual renewal date. Respectively, when you buy a new component you will need to simultaneously prepay maintenance for previous components.

Example: On January 15 you purchased two components with total annual maintenance price of $3,250/year. On March 15 you buy a third-component. When buying that third component you will also need to pay for 2 months (59 days) of maintenance of the first two components (i.e. 59 / 365 * $3,250=$525) and the renewal date becomes March 15 of every year. The same principle applies when adding some extra platform (macOS64, Linux64, etc).

To avoid complexities, we recommend purchasing a cost-effective bundle that grants access to multiple formats at once.

As long as you use CAD Exchanger technologies the license fee (development and, if applicable, distribution) is due, regardless whether you use the latest or older version. Distribution fees must be paid in accordance with your sales. This is a typical model of licensing complex technologies, so please make sure you comprehend your obligations beforehand. In some circumstances, we may not always technically enforce that obligation but it is part of the license agreement that both parties sign.

Should you decide to stop using CAD Exchanger SDK, please just notify us and remove it from your application, and certify that. If you change your mind and decide to use it again, then the joining fee will have to be paid again.
