Learn moreACIS geometric modeling kernel is used by many software developers in industries such as computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), computer-aided engineering (CAE), architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), coordinate-measuring machine (CMM), 3D animation, and shipbuilding. ACIS has also been used as the foundation of the Shape Manager kernel used by Autodesk in its applications. So the ACIS format is a preferred file format when exchanging data with Autodesk apps.
FBX (Filmbox) is a proprietary file format (*fbx) developed by Kaydara and owned by Autodesk since 2006. It is used to provide interoperability between digital content creation applications. The format saw wider support from other 3D software packages such as Cinema 4D, SoftImage 3D, PowerAnimator, LightWave 3D and 3D Studio MAX. Today, FBX is also widely adopted among VR applications, which are typically built on top of major game engines.
Need to work with CAD files in numerous formats? No worries.
From ACIS to FBX, CAD Exchanger gets you covered.
