PRC

PRC (Product Representation Compact) is a 3D file format that can be used to embed 3D data in a PDF file.

This highly compressed format facilitates the storage of different representations of a 3D model. For example, you can save only a visual representation that consists of polygons (a tessellation), or you can save the model's exact geometry (B-rep data). Varying levels of compression can be applied to the 3D CAD data when it is converted to the PRC format using Adobe Acrobat 3D.

It is used in industries including architecture, industrial and product design, in multimedia and graphic design and runs on Microsoft Windows and OS X. Rhino uses Grasshopper, a visual scripting language add-on, developed by Robert McNeel & Associates.

Rhino is based on the NURBS mathematical model, so it focuses on producing precise representations of curves and freedom surfaces. It allows users to create, edit, analyse, and visualize NURBS curves, surfaces, solid bodies, point clouds and polymeshes.

Subscription includes access to all releases within the subscription period. To get access to new versions under the perpetual license, annual maintenance must be purchased additionally.
